Don’t see “Slumdog Millionaire”. It sucks!

 AN OPEN LETTER TO PM

Dear Prime Minister Modi,

BEFORE INDIA BECOMES ONE HUGE MORGUE, LET'S BRING THE ARMY OUT AND CREATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL CENTERS IN EVERY DISTRICT SPORTS STADIUM.

Dear sir, two days back I wrote this article - https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10158485899565016&id=76429890015&scmts=scwsplos -

stating lockdown will not help India's cause. And I totally believe it won't help. (Please do read my previous article and save India's poor and the Indian economy by planning innovative new methods to deal with this crisis).

But I am extremely thankful and glad you did it. Because the medical infrastructure will get three weeks to prepare for the huge calamity ahead. Unfortunately though these three weeks will fall 73 years too short for India and definitely 6 years too short for your present government.

Anyways. Cutting it really short. Let's hope in these three weeks your government is able to source some ventilators and masks for the health workers and convert district stadiums into emergency hospitals.

Because Coronavirus is here to stay. Forever. It will infect hundred percent of the world population in the next two to three years and kill a massive percentage of old people specially those with existing health conditions.

The only cure will be to safeguard them and keep their environment sanitized till we discover a vaccine.

But remember!!!! It will keep mutating and coming back with different strains every year so the vaccinations will need to be taken every year. Just because from normal flu the chances of death is 0.1% we don't take it seriously and unfortunately don't get vaccinated every year; though flu kills about 0.5 million people a year globally. Hopefully Corona will teach us two things. One not to touch our faces without sanitising our hands and two, to take annual vaccinations. Necessarily.

Today morning a friend of mine forwarded an article stating we might have 30k deaths in India by May. I said, well, that's a conservative way of putting it. It could be 25-50 million in 18-24 months till vaccines are available for common public. Yes sir, that's the possibility that doctors and scientists are predicting and I am sure you have all the research and data. Weather.com two days back did an article where it states

From 4 days to climb from 2 lac to 3 lac, it will be in one lac in a day in the next week and then in two weeks we will see a million a day, eventually inflicting about 2.5 billion people globally in a matter of months.

And no lockdown will stop it.

Let's use these three weeks to make massive army driven health care facilities. In every district of India.

And finally I am so glad that you banned all kinds of religious gatherings like the whole world has. Such medieval remedies have no place in times of such serious emergencies.
