Happy Govardhan Puja!

Praying on this day will remove the problem of hunger, like praying on Diwali removes the problem of poverty

After the unending comments on how I am an educated fool to question God's existence, today finally, I am sure you all will love this post.

I have put this lovely picture which I suggest all of you must put as your Facebook / Whatsapp display picture the way you put Sai Baba and JMD images!

This is so, because in every other street corner today I see there is Govardhan Puja being celebrated like almost never before and similar hillocks with cow dung - like in the picture above - are being made. I am even getting a lot of Happy Govardhan Puja whatsapp wishes!

And after scrutiny, I realized this is an extremely important day specially in the newly ultra patriotic and religious India. Eat cow dung as medicine, worship cow dung but yes don't mess or mock at cow dung - specially if you are a poor and marginalized dalit - there are people watching!!

So, Happy Govardhan Puja to you all. If you want food in your stomach, and good crops every year, you got it right!! This is the secret!! Jaago India!! Today I finally feel educated!

The more we keep our masses brain dead and tied to Govardhan Pujas the less will be the need to deliver good irrigation systems and deliver a new green revolution isn't it? And then from Bihar to UP to the Center we can have more criminals and illiterates being elected as law makers. Just for info, 25% of the elected law makers in Bihar from RJD to BJP have serious criminal charges.. And the current parliament of India has 34% criminals inside the parliament (4% more than previous elected parliament in 2009) with 21% (6% more than 2009 elections) having serious crime charges against them and 9% with murder charges. Obviously no prizes for guessing which party has the lion's share of criminals - obviously the ruling party. I expect the same to happen in UP elections. Criminals will be elected... some who will protect the cow and it's dung and some who will make scams with its fodder!!

And media will keep playing out praises of India's democracy and how it punishes previous governments. And of course keep thanking the army for keeping India's democracy alive, additionally (because in today's India, dare you forget the sacrifice of the army while celebrating anything). And we will be fooled to believe that masses can't be fooled and once in five years it delivers justice!!

Brain dead masses' brain dead justice. Because educating the masses is the most risky proposition for a government!! Karl Marx once said, "the oppressed are allowed every few years to choose which representative from the oppressing class is going to represent & repress them ." And looking at our elections and results I couldn't agree more.

But back to a more serious note... after all the sermons I have been receiving out here, I have been really doing a lot of self introspection. And, this Diwali I really think, I got the solution to my and my father's Great Indian Dream of an equitable and just society .. I think doing pujas and celebrating Diwali in particular, apart from keeping our government happy, is actually the best way to removing poverty and achieving socialism, equity and justice. Marx was stupidly against religion. He didn't know religion has the power to bring socialism in the world. If you are wondering how, read on...

On the day of Diwali, every man has 24 hours. So we all must deeply and sincerely pray to Goddess Lakshmiji for her blessings!! This is the magic we need. No politician is responsible for India's and your development. Our prayers are responsible. Equal prayers will give us equal returns and problem of poverty will disappear, equality will come and we will all be well off... we should never look upto our PM and other leaders for prosperity and eradication of poverty. That lies in our own prayers to God. If people realize this and don't trouble our politicians then only this country will progress.

The political leaders instead of focusing on poverty eradication must focus on gau mata and keep whipping up nationalistic fervor by reminding us of the sacrifices of the army. And the media must play it up. After all the common man makes no sacrifices, is non patriotic and must be made to feel inferior about his nationalism because he doesn't go and die in the borders at wishes and fancy of our politicians (34% of whom are criminals - and I am not even questioning what percentage are illiterates), whose children mind you never join the army. So Diwali day we must remember the army while we burn crackers and celebrate - whatever that means - to get the ultimate mix of nationalism and religion. And of course pray. Pray a lot.

Sad that the western countries don't know these tricks to prosperity! Shocking that Canadian parliamentarians are so less educated that 50% of the newly elected parliamentarians refused to swear by God during their oath taking in the parliament this month and 72% of Norwegians are now said to be atheists. Look at Norway / Canada and you will realize exactly all that we don't want in India. At least we surely don't want their No1 Human Development Index ranking. After all how pathetic that out of a total of about 26 Human Development Index rankings Canada got Ranked No 1 a stunning 8 times and Norway a far more staggering 11 times and between them they got ranked No.1 a total of 19 out of 26 times.. we must remain at our current 135th rank! Most importantly we must believe that higher human development and social security is useless, because then people don’t believe in God instead let’s keep people uneducated with negligible social security - then they will believe in God and yesssssss, God will take care of all problems!!!!!

I supported Modi, openly and aggressively before national elections and even after elections because he said he believes in "toilets before temples" and because he said that the "Constitution of India was his most important religious book". I had rarely heard any politician say such amazing things. But guess the political environment of questioning who eats what and fanning nationalistic and religious fervor is the new call of the day.

I will end by saying, after my new realisation thanks to so many brilliant comments on my previous posts questioning God's existence, or asking our politicians to bring development, or praising Bill Gates for his vision of a poverty free world by 2035 I strongly recommend, we must pray to God for development and leave politicians alone (I must also mention for added benefits, we must thank the Indian army while we celebrate and also watch Shivaay).

Happy Govardhan Puja.

Cheers!!

NB. Make no mistake, I have utmost respect for the jawans who give their life at the borders, just like I have for human scavengers who are forced to carry human excreta on their heads to earn a living. And I believe we must have conscription (where every youth has to serve the army) mandated for at least one year after college so that battle deaths don't just remain restricted to the families of the poor but happen in same proportion in families of the rich as well as politicians. Similarly I feel there should be a national manual scavenging service mandatory for every youth for one year after college so that we don't need the poor to do the dirty job. These two years will shape every youth's personality. And politicians will either stop war mongering and nationalistic sloganeering at the cost of the lives of poor jawans and remove the profession of human scavengers and give dignity to every citizen of the country or have their own children do the same jobs. And any politician whose child (or who personally) hasn't done both the jobs must be made inelgible for the top post of the country. To become the PM of the country two years of national service of the country is nothing. That's real nationalism. And that to me is far more important than to become the PM and then go to the border every year to celebrate Diwali.

HATS OFF TO SHAH RUKH KHAN FOR STANDING HIS GROUND! IT’S NOW TIME TO END THIS HOOLIGANISM ONCE AND FOR ALL AND MAKE MUMBAI A UNION TERRITORY!

SRK is great! Not just because he is such a star, but because he genuinely is the most amazing person and has such a logical and sound brain. And now the entire nation idolizes this man all the more because he has become a symbol of sheer courage as well! And I think all it required was someone like him to stand up coolly and say, “This is not right, I’ve done nothing wrong and I won’t apologise.” When he was saying this, one could almost see the schoolboy rebel in him – not ready to cow down to an illogical man trying to act as the school headmaster. I am writing this editorial immediately after coming back from a show on NDTV 24x7, which was on the topic, “Is Sena the real power in Mumbai?” I was one of the speakers. It was sad to see Uddhav Thackeray, who was another speaker in that show, sticking to a stance that cannot be defended by any sense of logic. When questioned on the show by the NDTV anchor on his tendentious comments against SRK, Uddhav’s reply was that one should ask th

It’s important for Anna to become more flexible and respectful towards the democratic process, to give a bigger thrust to his movement

I was too young then to really remember it all; but I have heard from many people that the mass protests generated by the arrest of Anna Hazare are similar to the uprising called Total Revolution led by the late Jaiprakash Narayan in the early 1970s. In fact, it was the Total Revolution and the chaos that followed – and a historic blunder by Indira Gandhi – that led to the imposition of the Emergency in India in 1975. Many people are comparing today’s situation to the Emergency days. The people of India are so fed up and so disgusted with corruption and our rotten and corrupt system that the wave of protests we see is hardly surprising. I have often publicly called India not a democracy but a demonocracy where crooked politicians and their criminal cohorts are openly plundering the nation; well aware that a dysfunctional judicial system will allow them to get away. In almost all cases, they have actually got away and have hence acquired the arrogance and swagger of pirates who know

Don’t see “Slumdog Millionaire”. It sucks!

A phony poseur that has been made only to mock India for the viewing pleasure of the First World!! The emperor’s new clothes! That’s “Slumdog Millionaire” for you… Five minutes into this celebrated patchwork of illogical clichés and you are struck by the jarring dialogues. The cumbersome delivery in a language which doesn’t come naturally to most of the actors sounds like someone scratching on walls with one’s finger nails; it ruins the possibility of a connection… Had this film been made by an Indian director, it would’ve been trashed as a rotting old hat, which literally stands out only because of its stench, but since the man making it happens to be from the West, we’re all left celebrating the emperor’s new clothes. The film borrows an undoubtedly interesting narrative style – from films like “City of God” – but then uses it to weave in a collection of clichés from the Third World’s underbelly for the viewing pleasure of a First World audience. The real slumdog in the movie is not
