Why not outsource our Parliament itself?!

As my fifth consecutive and final editorial related to the Mumbai terror attacks and to what we should be doing, this time I am going to write down four random thoughts that are coming to my mind... I hope by the end of the editorial, you can find some relation between all of them and some meaning out of it.

The first thought that drives me infuriatingly mad tonight, as I sit down to write this editorial, is that it will all happen again... and too soon, because we have learnt no lessons. Just today, as I boarded the flight from Kolkata to Delhi, I walked into the airport with my large handbag, and was – to my astonishment – not subjected to any security check of any kind. The sickeningly lax security guards standing at the main entrance did not even check anyone’s identity card, leave alone checking our bags using some metal detector, although a security screening gate is kept right outside the entrance. As I walked in, I felt like throwing shoes – the way the Iraqi journalist did recently – at one and all of our politicians for being such shamelessly unrepentant frauds. They just give crappy lip service even when the entire nation is fuming and hurt. Even at key risk areas like airports, they haven’t yet put any kind of real security. Three people like me could have walked into the Calcutta airport today without being checked, and then taken out guns and once more held hostage the entire airport filled with thousands of passengers, and created mayhem! (And probably, this might well be the reality soon at some airport or mall). So let me tell you all. Nothing, simply nothing has changed! These bloodsucking vampire bats who rule this country will do nothing but speak garbage and hope that as per the law of probability, another attack would not happen soon. That is all...

The second thought that comes to my mind is corruption. It feels sick to know that all the killed terrorists and the one caught alive (and probably the fifteen odd who escaped) were carrying 400 dollars with them. It is such a common joke for terrorists that they were indeed all carrying that sum since that was the exact amount of money that our marine inspectors take as bribe to let people off in the seas. So, to go back through the seas after the mayhem, the terrorists needed that money to bribe our coast guards. What a shame to know that our borders are so porous everywhere and our defence is so much on sale. And let me tell you it’s not just the coast guards, it’s everybody, just everybody who is up for shameless sale. What a pity! They buy faulty guns, faulty rockets, faulty bulletproof jackets, faulty everything… and don’t think twice before selling their souls and putting the entire nation on sale. Until these criminals and spineless swines – almost one and all politicians – rule this country, we will have just too many more Mumbais. And all our people will do is form useless human chains where a few actors will come deliberately looking like plain Janes and get a photo-op. Trust me, it’s time for more... as I have been writing nonstop in my past edits! It’s time to grab the power away from these slimy soul peddlers; they are not just corrupt, they are corrupt to an extent that is completely unimaginable. They aren’t swindling away simply a crore or so; they are swindling this nation out of hundreds and thousands of crores, and that too on an individual basis depending upon their portfolios. They have their venture funds and private equity funds in benami (undisclosed); and these politico-criminals are investing even in education, hospitals and everything. And the sad truth is that everybody knows which politician has what kind of fund size and is investing where, and who owns which company and how the markets are manipulated up and down. But no one dares to write all this because then the government will devastate them the way they taught Tehelka a lesson. Nehru had once said that every black marketer should be hanged from the nearest lamp-post. By his definition, all the lamp-posts around Parliament House should have been used to hang these very corrupt soul-sellers and nation betrayers. Sounds too strong? But that’s how it is!

The third thought that comes to my mind as our politicians irresponsibly speak of war, is that though we must avoid a war, the LETs, the Dawoods and all such negative forces have to be necessarily wiped off. And I don’t realise why our intelligence doesn’t think of a special suicidal patriotic task force, whose job will be to go to these terror funding countries unofficially and kill the dangerous individuals and come back the way, say, the Israeli Mossad can do (whenever required, openly), or the way CIA has been doing in a clandestine manner forever, by carrying out killings all over Latin America and its bordering countries to put in favourable governments from time to time. And to quote an alternate think for our pathetically characterless and charlatan politicians, this force can be made up of terminally ill patients who – despite knowing they might not have long to live – would love to make their life be of huge service to this nation. I say this radically because we have to avoid wars but we must destroy these negative forces as well. And for that, we must try out alternate sources before going for a war.

Finally, it’s unfortunate; but the truth in India is that if you need good roads, don’t give the contract to an Indian company... for an Indian company will cheat and make roads that break off in no time. If you need better airports, never give the contract to an Indian company... for it will cheat and swindle money. So the buzzword is, outsource the job to a foreign company. They will, in all probability (after giving the initial kickback to secure the contract) do the job honestly; and we will have better roads and airports and every other public service, as has been proven in the past. By the same logic now, our Defence Ministry is thinking of ‘outsourcing’ our coastguards to a foreign country / company to be sure they don’t take bribes (what a huge, huge, huge shame that our politicians have created such an environment of corruption in India that they can’t even trust their own people to guard the country honestly)... If this is indeed to be done, then why shouldn’t the people of India also think of outsourcing our country’s Parliament seats – including the Prime Minister’s job – to foreigners... To Barrack Obama and his team maybe! At least we would know that we are in safe end genuine hands, where no effort is farcical and no promise a mere, pathetic and shameless lip service!
This new year, take a simple pledge. Say no to lip service. Hope that conveys it all. Happy New Year!

Well said Sir, well said!
We are sick of corruption. Please keep writing! You're doing a sincere job of reminding people and making them aware of the need to change our country.
We need change at every level, not just Parliament. As you pointed out, our Mumbai's security was sold for US$400 by a corrupt coastguard. The personal wealth of the businessmen and industrialists at Taj might have been billions, but they're eventually worth just a coast guard's bribe! Nothing else underlines the need for grassroots change. As for outsourcing the Parliament, I say instead of providing them with security guards that point guns away from them, the Parliamentarians should be provided with "national interest security guards" which hold a gun to their brain and threaten to blow them out if even one paisa is accepted as bribe!

The world over, a handful of authoritarians decide the fate of millions of innocents...that is a sad fact of life. I saw a Paki woman pleading on tv yesterday to hand over the terrorists to India. I feel that the average Paki citizen is betrayed by the war-mongering of the Paki political and military leaders.
Look at the criticism in US for Bush's invasion, and now the Israeli bombings in Gaza....
We are all the same, people betrayed by the sick minds that rule over us.

The problem with India is, no matter what we want to accomplish, something as simple as getting a voter's Id card, things are DELIBERATELY made difficult. For instance, after standing in line for 3 hours, filling forms correctly, I got a voter's Id card with ridiculous errors. The address appearing on it is totally WEIRD, my age is wrong....and the only way to get it rectified is to spend more hours at the Collectorate.
THIS is what I call DELIBERATELY making things difficult.
Similarly, try to get an FIR registered, try to get the SIMPLEST of things done, we are HUMILIATED, we get the message that our time, effort does not matter, that WE DO NOT MATTER at all!
The result is our de-sensitized, chalta-hai attitude. It is programmed into us, because the only other way to get things done is to bribe or to hold a gun to the suckers' heads!
Unless we learn to fight back over these issues, nothing will change!
Frankly, I have decided one thing. I want to get out of this frickin country and I will. I can't change it. Till I live here, I will abide by the law and fantasize about not abiding by the law.
But I really don't want to be humiliated any more for small things. No matter where I speak out for my rights, I am treated like an alien, an overly aggressive person.
My dad feels the same way about pursuing an FIR against an under-age truck driver who ripped through the door of my sister's brand new car and missed injuring her by a hair's breadth. Nobody does anything, unless you have hours and hours to follow up with the a.h.s
I say, Indians, quit India!
Any sensible, SELFISH Indian should get the hell out of here, or resign themselves to become a "Mahatma" - who dedicates their whole life to crusading against the ills OR...suffers in silence.
I say...I want out of this shyt place.

...After 60 Years of Independence, Is this our dream country :-
Where there is no economical & Least Social Security;
Where corruption is deep-rooted in all spheres of citizen administration;
Where fake medicine trades are booming;
Where poverty level has risen to 55%;
Where farmers do die of Hunger;
Where dowry deaths are unabated;
Where there is no security against terror attacks;
Where majority of the children in the country are without education;
Where religion, caste and money rule the mandate in democracy;
Where there is no protection from floods & droughts each year;
Where discriminate policies lead millions of citizens to unemployment;
Where justice gets diluted due to indefinite delay;
Where Judges comment “Even God cannot save this Country”!
Where major population is deprived of equal opportunities starting from education;
Where taxes are whimsically hiked due to mismanagement of tax payer money;
Where taxes are paid whole through life but no old age security is being provided;
Where there is no housing, food, healthcare, and Clothing for Millions;
Where politically motivated groups kill other citizens in the name of Religion;
Where thousands of Girls & Women are raped daily;
Where lakhs of children die due to water born diseases & malnutrition;
Where food adulteration is maximum in comparison to other countries;
Where lakhs of females are thrown to flesh trade & exploitation;
Where thousands are killed on roads due to inadequate roads & traffic management;

Where there are 100 – 1000 schemes of rural upliftment but none achieve the objective;
Where most of the citizens of disturbed states suffer for years due to lack of proper solution;
Where largest number of violent organizations in a country operates in India;
Where uninterrupted electricity, pure drinking water, healthy food, sanitation & other basic
amenities are still a distant dream

Do we think that India is our own country? If we think yes, then we need to protect our country India like we protect our house & valuables as a fundamental duty. We earn & pay taxes within a ratio upto 50% of our income in Direct & Indirect taxes (To earn 50% for the country or government, Half Life of each tax payer citizen exists for the country). That Tax Money runs the government machinery & the social upliftment programmes. Whenever that tax money fall short to run the government machinery, more taxes are levied to each citizen. This happens only when the taxpayer money is diluted in corruption. All Citizen feel burdened sooner or later.

We are getting looted by few corrupt individuals due to our negligence. We vote for change but the outcome of these democratic right results only in change of politicians rather than the change in system for fair governance. This is because, most of the existing corruption pattern, selfish political parties cannot give results of Social & Economic Justice to People of India.

The criticism to the existing Social & Political Structure is possible to a certain extent only. After that, Strength of Mankind should be applied to bring positive change.

We believe in ideology of truth & courage to take this Country on a Prosperous Path.
We will strengthen each and every citizen to be “a Leader & a Soldier” towards this endeavour

More I read of your write-ups I must say that you too sound more of an "arm-chair" advocate of change. In fact, you are fortunate to be weilding no. of powerful tools, i.e. running a number of useful magazines and some professional/educational institutaions, and hence, you should be showing us how to bring about this change in our society's mind-set and are able to see us as one nation one people and with one common destiny. As a starter, how about adapting one elementary school in each district, and encourage teching children on human values. We have enough people telling what is wrong with this country, but we are short of those who are truly passionate to practise what they preach.

Dats a wonderful article by indian social security!!..I agree with him on nearly every aspect..
But wont it better to come up with few initial practical suggestions for bringing about a change?
I suggest we sud enhance communications between ourselves and formulate ways to enter the political arena..
Ofcourse,its not possible for everyone to join active politics..But everyone can surely help persons who are willing...Working for the change can only bring a change..Ideas n criticisms merely sound impressive on paper!!.

It is easy to criticize our security forces but our security personnel are filled with patriotic people willing to give their lives at an instant in order to protect our country a fine example of that was the mumbai attacks where our police constables armed with lathis and batons confronted the terrorists at a moments notice and foiled their primary attack plans to reduce the taj to rubble and the brave young commandos and jawans gave their lives for mother india.
and about the Indian commandos being used for reconnaissance suicide missions to the terror zones it would only fuel a war.
right now the let mujaheddin combined with the Pakistan army are waiting to wage war against India India is doing all we can to prevent a war. war is not just a 3 letter word the main sufferers of war are the young soldiers and civilians but the decision makers who mostly are in the prime of their lives barely suffer
the bottom line is that corruption is predominant in our country and we must do everything we can to eradicate and prevent corruption and terrorism which almost every superpower in the world is a victim of.

We must realise that we cannot have one segment corrupt and earning money, and other expected to be honest. If politicians, income tax, sales tax, MCD staff are all taking bribes, businessmen are avoiding crores of taxes, then everyone else will also join the race, be it the man at the radar watching for enemy aircraft, the coastguard, the policeman, the school teacher, the hospital nurse etc.

We are so much after money and have surrendered everything for money that until the day comes when everyone is corrupt and the system virtually collapses things will not improve.

So we have to wait for things to get a lot worse before there is a sort of a revolution against corruption.

India is talking of war with Pakistan !

What War !

In case of war, in probably 1,000 crores Pakistan can purchase radar operators, key staff at frontal bases, signal codes etc and win the war in 2 days flat !

And why not. What wrong would they do to take money if politicans, income tax officers, sales tax offices, excise inspectors, MCD staff, purchase officers all take bribes and give whatever they have to offer to get the money - which is what everyone else is doing.

In fact anyone who does not take a bribe and make money is probably an IDIOT !

Dear Mr Chaudhari

The scathing criticism of Indian politicians talked about in your articles albeit warranted,is not exactly breaking news, with all due respect. Having long been listed amongst the world's most corrupt nations for a long time by practically all political watchdogs left wing and conservative alike, India as you have painstakingly revealed is rife with it's government's officials milking the country of it's income. I just wanted to provide you an alternative point of view, based on my study of yoga and meditation in India over the past 2 decades. I suppose at this point you may dismiss my letter as written by some kind of religious nut and anything such a person may say would be practically useless to you and anyone else who may be considered as "thinking" people. However, I humbly ask you hear me out, and if nothing else perhaps an alternative perspective may increase your own resolve to your aggenda, and maybe even open up new ways of viewing old problems, and conversely, old ways of viewing new problems!

Isn't our original enigma overriding all else and one that has beleaguered man since time immemorial the fundamental question on the nature of existence? Extrapolated this foundational truth unfurls the gamut of philosophical quandries which explore such notions of one's nature of being, God, the world, and death, with an almost unlimited number of threads unravelling from these core axioms. From where can we get the answers to these questions, which if considered objectively, must surely take precedence over the daily machinations of this ephemeral world complete with it's constant state of flux which includes the corruption of politicians, world wars and any other known event and phenomena related by our reasoning and processed by our mind and it's corollaries the senses? The ancients realised early on that commonly accepted methods of acquiring knowledge such as direct perception, inference based on generalised experience and circumstance, analogy, speculation and the logic of understanding something by it's non perception (if not x then y) etc. had limitations which prevented anything other than relative assertations and verbal posturing on these seminal issues. How then can we ascertain just what consitutes the nature of reality? The ancients thus took the Veda as the sole authority on matters which lay beyond the above mentioned fallible methods of acquiring knowledge. Once the pramana (Sanskrit meaning "evidence") is accepted then one can rapidly progress and can actually realise a purpose in life beyond the carnal activities of eating, sleeping, mating and defending which sadly today takes precedence over such willy nilly notions such as wondering who am I, what am I doing here and where am I going! The topic of politics, corrupt and otherwise, neatly fits into one of these primal needs albeit with some interpolation, under the category of "defending". This now leads me to the perfect system of socialism as devised by God and revealed in the Veda.

The socialism espoused of in that ancient treatise was termed varnashram, a Sanskrit word classifying a person's occupation coupled with spiritual realisation. Of course the demise of this system is evident, such that it's practicality today is highly questionable. However, there is a variation to this system termed daivi varnasrama which simply adds the element of an internal cleansing process of yoga, meditation and self discovery beyond the apparent material notion of self thus ensuring each member of any social class within the system can progress beyond the limiting factors of birth, social class and occupation and thus also eliminates the tendency for other members of superficially higher classes to exploit lower ones. It is this system that I have chosen as a paradigm for the communal living I've written about and lived since enthusiastically embracing the concepts a number of years back.

Your suggestions as to how best to clean up Indian politics and politicians are definitely interesting and novel, though untenable. For example, your idea to employ terminally ill people to eliminate unwanted elements to India's security and well being, whilst certainly an entertaining concept and one which as I write some budding Bollywood director would have aspirations to direct a blockbuster about, would fail unquestionably. The Dawood Ibrahims et al you have mentioned, whilst no doubt dangerous elements, are figureheads to an ideology, one that has ensconced practically every Muslim in the modern world. Eliminating Mr Big would simply result in 10 more Mr Bigs, whom in turn would spawn 10 more Mr Bigs exponentially, such that I'd doubt that India would have enough terminally ill assasins even if they were willing, to eliminate all of them! My point here being that there are no material solutions to material problems!

In summation, I would welcome any exchange with you re any of the above, and wish you well in your progressive march to immortality, your real life's mission!

Sincerely,
sakredkow

Hi Arindam & ALL other fellow Citizens,

We can go on and on whining about the corrupt and criminals in governance and public offices. But lets' ask ourselves - as an educated citizen, why haven't WE taken action to FORCE things right.

ARE WE ALL waiting for uneducated people to take the first step, who don't even KNOW or BOTHER about the seriousness of this situation?

WAKE UP INDIA! Every day we 'allow' corruption to continue - we are making it spread roots that far more.

Last month, I joined a brilliant new movement called "INDIA LIGHTNING" started by a few who 'cared'. IndiaLight.ning.com wants to create a mass movement to force the corrupt and criminals COMPLETELY OUT OF GOVERNANCE AND PUBLIC OFFICES.

I know it seems impossible, but I strongly think the TIME HAS COME to join forces to give it a push. So, what's stopping this?

YOU - Yes, if YOU haven't joined this movement, we are ONE SHORT in achieving this goal of a corruption-free India.

Arindam, I highly appreciate your widely publicised blog and most opinions on issues of national importance. Please use your reach to create a "mass movement" to root out the corruption menace. We have already lost years!!

If it is true and Transparent Democracy the Obama way round, that Indians would love to have here, you can learn from:
http://ideas.obamacto.org/

Then implementing such state of the art Information Management Systems and accepting technology should not be any problem
Or is it that silly old orthodox psychology which is affecting such system's acceptance?
For what is the Nation's time being wasted?

Who should be held accountable for the trillions of picoseconds of parallel hyperthreading lives of living Citizens of India that will get wasted, if you delete this email?
And such systems that eventually are bound to be implemented in the future are unnecessarily delayed, for no valid justifiable point? Or rather personal opinion bias?

Hoping to see LokSabha+RajyaSabha bucked with state of the art Agenda Management System to boost operational efficiency of house.

Excellent sir. CHARLATAN Politician's are forgetting their duties. Your conclusion should open eyes to many Indians. We should go for outsourcing the parliament elections too.

Everywhere in govt sectors the virus called - bribe is squeezing the nations pride.who will control? who will do the work properly? it can be done only by outsourcing-because our system is corrupted that much.

I would like to mention, Respected Arindam sir - first time i have read your article which impressed me a lot. Even the movie 'Wednesday'- should create a sense of inspiration for every Indian(comman man).

Unless our system changes and attitude towards work force changes - these events will still continue. We should work as a team for better India.

"Implementation is lacking in india, many people can give sensible suggestions but who is listening and implementing"

I too wish all the members here at this blog spot a happy new year 2009.
Proud to be an Indian.

With due respect to the esteemed author, i would like to ridicule this 'so called' revolutionary idea. I do not doubt the patriotism and the feelings of the author towards India but on reading the article i get the feeling that it is inspired by some sort of foreign intervention. I ask the author that what does he mean by outsourcing of the parliament to foreign nationals? In the process of 'changing the nation, is the author pushing India to another 200 years of foreign rule and dominance? India's freedom struggle of over 100 years was all about throwing the foreigners out of this country and now when we are free, although not in an India which Gandhi and Nehru had dreamt of, we can not even think of inviting foreigners to rule our country!!! A serious reconsideration or explanation is expected.

I read with interest most of the comments posted and sadly except for 1 or 2 including my own they basically focus on strong arm rhetoric and action to rid India of corrupt politicians which from my perspective as one of the few non indian followers of this blog seems contrary to the Gandhian ethos i was expecting to hear from Indian people themselves. There is a saying in English that may be useful here : Absolute Power Corrupts and Power Corrupts Absolutely the point being that it's mandatory that any person in a position of governance will eventually succumb to corruption. Why beat oneself up over the inevitable? Fighting fire with fire has never worked and never will. The problems India, nay the entire world face aren't prima facie ones, they're systemmic caused by forgetfulness of one's own self/soul/atman. Digress throughout history for a moment and note the truly inspiring and great reformers Christ, Luther-King and of course Gandhi who all maintained a non violent principled means of social reform. Take note India please!

Well Sir I would agree with you to great extent but there is another(But Soft due to corrupt Judicial system) way whereby these politicians must be treated like commodities and if any of their promises are not done or a particular work is not completed in their constituencies then they should be taken to Consumer Court.These court should not have right to extend the case for more than a month(Judgment must be given). The judgment should not recommend constitution of any committees if by any case its required then they should be paid their salaries after completion of work only, that is when these committees might work faster. If they can do business with our money when they win election then why not challenge their corrupt deeds in CONSUMER COURT. Its also they should also come under the Fringe Benefit Tax bracket, they are the ones who has more benefits (from Aam Aadmi's money)than any rich businessman in this country and should be paid from their personal income not from the department or the office they hold. It would also more than double the FBT's collection in our country and improve our economy to some extent.

You said some where that time is ripe to take the power away from the corrupt politicians.

I am not aware, are you doing / moving towards this direction. Or is the article is another form of lip service (like the politicians do). No offence meant - I feel shame of myself and the public at large being helpless to fight the corruption.

Dear Sir,

Wishing you a Very Happy New Year!!

Sir,You said it all!

Politician's are termites that are eating our country in the name of false promises,security lapses resulting in a blame game and off course the "Show game" that happened after the Mumbai attacks.

Politicians were busy showing that they really cared for the people in name of compensation. A state decided to give 50 lacs the other state decided to give a crore.

At times i sit and wonder is it because of media pressure that makes politicians react to such situations.
New departments are formed to combat these situations which would further result to a blame game.

There are two main outcomes after any of such attacks.
1) Intelligence failure or
2)If intelligence had informed the authorities but there was no action taken.

Politicians compensate the martyrs but its never seen that they compensate the nation by giving us a corruption free govt or for that matter even a pair good gear to Soldier who is willing to die for our country.

Mumbai attacks issue would soon die down once our politicians feel that they have earned enough political mileage.

More than one month has passed since mumbai attacks.Time is moving fast, and no action is being taken either by the governmment or by the international community. A bomb blast recently in guwahati shows that no one has learnt a lesson from mumbai incident. Our situation is like a house in the society which is being attacked by the neighbour constantly, and we are complaining to the other people just like a child cries when his lollipop is taken away from him. This is our own battle and we will have to fight it on our own, rather than depending on US and UK to take actions. Remember what US had done after the 9/11 attacks? we have the right to do the same. The official language before the world(U.N.O) should be that 'our fight is not against pakistan, our fight is against the terrorists who are using the pakistan's soil. Since the pakistan government is not able to eliminate such terrorist groups, we will have to interfere because these groups are a threat to our country. We want the pakistan government to help us in eradicating such groups. If pakistan government refuses to help or oppose us then it will mean they are supporting the terrorists, in that case we will be forced to fight them as well.'
I am not in favour of war and know a war at this time with pakistan will be a dent in our economy, but if we avoid the war today there will be a bigger war tomorrow, and that war can lead us to chaos. I know there is a lot of corruption and flaws in our own country and some people might say that we need to get our security tight and should overthrow the corrupt politicians, that is true aswell, but it is a bitter truth that terrorism is a far bigger threat than corruption now and should be the priority at this time.
The more bitter truth is that a war with pakistan is inevitable, because the fact is that the pakistan government is also involved with the terrorists.
Thank you for reading so patiently, and if you think that I am wrong somewhere or I have missed something important, then please give a feedback.

We know everything whats going in and around us, but none of us have the guts to do anything, police are accepting bribe openly, still we are quiet, to take the dead body of our beloved, we need to bribe.... What is all this???? We are still not independent, i feel having British rule was in a way better, because atleast we all were united. But whats happening now??

Arindam sir has taken a wonderfull step, but how many of us are there to support him?? Sir i must tell u, u are the right person to start this, because u have the power in hand. And the power is "youth". Lets just show the world what India is all about.

To Anil Vrghese: I don't think 'outsourcing Parliament' is an impractical idea. What the author wants to imply is that we should take away some powers from the corrupt politicians and make them realize that the average salaried professional can do their duties more efficiently and without bribes. We need a 'system' that enables progress, not disables it.

To armageddonsurvivor: nice compilation of data, but what's the solution??

looking at some recent comment postings ...
Hey Have you noticed?
How intelligently
Sir has united Indians and lots of followers?

Does anyone even now thinks ... that selling/outsourcing nation was the real objective
I dont think so ...

Also a golden rule of globalization is:

Outsource only the lowermost Zero IQ tasks/components of a global business (like Customer Call Answering) to sitting ducks in third world nations (Unfortunately India was ... Maybe no more ... Thanks to Obama ...)

While retaining the strategic decision making corporate planning + policy making business components

Now I guess you all know
What was meant ...
by
Outsourcing Parliament ...

I agree with Amit saying ...
lets do something... we r with u... show us path, tracing it is our job.

Roxett too

ABout SONI
It's a good proposition
But Easier said than done
We need monitoring components

And as we all know
this has come to light that
Experts believe that,
Our NIA would be just a showpiece

The nation has read it in newspapers
Because, technically speaking ...
India and Indians dont have it in them to simulate U.S FBI model in India
The same age old Budget Resource allocation problem comes up

And past experience shows, US models are not performing as per expectations in Indian field operational conditions
Experts are saying this ...
Not me or you

And on an average, about 1 explosion every 30 months is the hit rate.

Like Financial Accountants,
They had published operational costs for FBI network in US with US arms expenditure
India's budget and integrity & corruption busting low priorities are peanuts before this initiative

Frankeinstein Political System is not listening to us for change requests
How about Focussing on Solutions rather than shouting on the problem?

like this one:
Lots of Homework left to be done:
http://arindamchaudhuri.blogspot.com/2008/12/education-next-thing-to-lobby-for-if.html?showComment=1230835440000#c7498025942200629727

How about starting a brainstorm session with Identification of Management Information Systems that would be helpful to Nation

These case studies should be:
Cost effective

May be Open Source Solutions

Should have realtime implementation time estimate

Common transparent Contact Pool Resources (People) to whom requests forwarded & responses received tracked publicly etc ...

Professional Solutions already available in Market with their budget, comparisons and pros and cons ...

Does that look like a solution Sir?

Could this be a solution?

Are you for real? Do you even know what you are talking about?

For one, can you please name a foreign company which has secured a contract to build a road or airport in India? I know of a few Indian companies who have done an awesome job doing these (GMR, Greater Noida...). The "buzz" word (sic!). Or were you referring to the "buzz" you were feeling post meth when you wrote this?

And your next post is about why India is immune to the current slowdown. How do you reconcile the two thoughts?

HATS OFF TO SHAH RUKH KHAN FOR STANDING HIS GROUND! IT’S NOW TIME TO END THIS HOOLIGANISM ONCE AND FOR ALL AND MAKE MUMBAI A UNION TERRITORY!

SRK is great! Not just because he is such a star, but because he genuinely is the most amazing person and has such a logical and sound brain. And now the entire nation idolizes this man all the more because he has become a symbol of sheer courage as well! And I think all it required was someone like him to stand up coolly and say, “This is not right, I’ve done nothing wrong and I won’t apologise.” When he was saying this, one could almost see the schoolboy rebel in him – not ready to cow down to an illogical man trying to act as the school headmaster. I am writing this editorial immediately after coming back from a show on NDTV 24x7, which was on the topic, “Is Sena the real power in Mumbai?” I was one of the speakers. It was sad to see Uddhav Thackeray, who was another speaker in that show, sticking to a stance that cannot be defended by any sense of logic. When questioned on the show by the NDTV anchor on his tendentious comments against SRK, Uddhav’s reply was that one should ask th

It’s important for Anna to become more flexible and respectful towards the democratic process, to give a bigger thrust to his movement

I was too young then to really remember it all; but I have heard from many people that the mass protests generated by the arrest of Anna Hazare are similar to the uprising called Total Revolution led by the late Jaiprakash Narayan in the early 1970s. In fact, it was the Total Revolution and the chaos that followed – and a historic blunder by Indira Gandhi – that led to the imposition of the Emergency in India in 1975. Many people are comparing today’s situation to the Emergency days. The people of India are so fed up and so disgusted with corruption and our rotten and corrupt system that the wave of protests we see is hardly surprising. I have often publicly called India not a democracy but a demonocracy where crooked politicians and their criminal cohorts are openly plundering the nation; well aware that a dysfunctional judicial system will allow them to get away. In almost all cases, they have actually got away and have hence acquired the arrogance and swagger of pirates who know

Don’t see “Slumdog Millionaire”. It sucks!

A phony poseur that has been made only to mock India for the viewing pleasure of the First World!! The emperor’s new clothes! That’s “Slumdog Millionaire” for you… Five minutes into this celebrated patchwork of illogical clichés and you are struck by the jarring dialogues. The cumbersome delivery in a language which doesn’t come naturally to most of the actors sounds like someone scratching on walls with one’s finger nails; it ruins the possibility of a connection… Had this film been made by an Indian director, it would’ve been trashed as a rotting old hat, which literally stands out only because of its stench, but since the man making it happens to be from the West, we’re all left celebrating the emperor’s new clothes. The film borrows an undoubtedly interesting narrative style – from films like “City of God” – but then uses it to weave in a collection of clichés from the Third World’s underbelly for the viewing pleasure of a First World audience. The real slumdog in the movie is not
